B is for …. Boy

According to studies boys are up to 4 times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that boys are more likely to have autism than girls, girls present autism differently to boys and it has been proved that they are better at masking a lot of the typical behaviours than boys are.

Girls might be more subtle in their presentation than boys but that doesn’t mean that the affect that it has on their lives is any different.

The curly hair project is a blog that I follow which supports girls with autism

Please join me in supporting this very important cause
